Wildfire breaks out in Riverside County

A wildfire has erupted in rural Riverside County, scorching several acres east of Temecula.According to Cal Fire, the fire started shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in the 46000 block of Stanley Road north of Aguanga. “[The fire] is burning in medium fuels with a moderate rate of spread,” Cal Fire said on social media. Approximate location of the Stanley Fire in Riverside County. An update from fire officials at 2:10 p.m. Monday said that the fire had spread to 12 acres and that a closure had been put in place for Stanley Road at Sage Road.This is a developing story. 31 California Rite Aid locations among more than 150 expected to close

More than 150 Rite Aid locations are expected to close after the Rite Aid Corporation filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this week.As part of the process, Rite Aid expected to close underperforming stores. In court filings submitted Monday, the company disclosed the initial 154 stores it will be closing nationwide.31 of the 154 stores set to close are in California, with over half of those 31 located in Southern California.It's unclear when the Rite Aid stores are expected to close, but patients' prescriptions are expected to be transferred to other pharmacies, the company told Insider.  The year-round horror offering from Universal set to make its Las Vegas debut now has a name, the company announced Tuesday.In a release from Universal, the company announced the name of its new year-round horror experience in Las Vegas. "Universal Horror Unleashed" to be located at AREA15 in Las Vegas, promises "a variety of unique, immersive, and horror-centric experiences."Not just for Halloween, the spin-off of Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, popular with visitors in Southern California, Florida, and overseas, is set to become a permanent fixture in the 20-acre expansion of AREA15. 17-Year-Old Boy Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Mile Post 93SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (October 17, 2023) – Monday afternoon, a fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on State Route 20, resulting in the death of James Janda.The incident prompted a swift response from law enforcement, with police arriving at the accident scene at approximately 3:15 p.m.The collision took place on the westbound lanes of the freeway, near Mile Post 93, on the 9th of October.
