With the rally, Baltimore ended its four-game losing streak and avoided what would’ve been its first sweep since May 2022.The Orioles have not been swept in 66 series since promoting Adley Rutschman, a catcher then ranked as baseball’s top prospect, to the majors. Roads in and out of Apatzingan were blocked Sunday morning by trucks and buses pulled across the road by cartel gunmen, as the vehicles’ owners stood by helplessly. “They told me to park my truck across the road. They said if I moved it, they would burn it,” said one truck driver, who asked his name not be used for fear of reprisals. And in the city of Apatzingan, the regional hub where the area’s agricultural products are traded, gunmen carjacked a family, took their auto at gun point and used it to shoot another driver to death just a few blocks away. The Twins tried to go back to that same recipe on Sunday, but this time, well, it didn’t quite work.Starter Sonny Gray was fantastic through six innings and Jax did his part, too, but the normally-reliable Duran faltered in the eighth inning, giving up a pair of runs as the Baltimore Orioles took the series finale 2-1.After striking out the first batter he faced in the eighth, Duran allowed a softly-hit single to Adley Rutschman. But after falling behind 3-0 in the count to the next batter, Ryan O’Hearn, the Twins put him on base. Duran promptly hit Jordan Westburg with a ...
